Fritz Hodde's "The Fabulous Six"

fritz hoddeFritz Hodde and "The Fabulous Six" has been performing since 1963. The Fabulous Six proudly celebrated “50 years” of playing polka music in the state of Texas in September, 2013. The band has faithfully traveled the state playing polka, waltz, and country music for all those years and has loved every minute. We never could have done it, though, without all of our supporters. The band consists of three generations of Hoddes (Fritz, Scott, and Brandon). Brandon is the son of Scott Hodde and the grandson of Fritz Hodde. Sometimes Diane Hodde (wife of Scott Hodde) joins in to play the button accordion. All the band members are multi-talented and feature vocals of Czech, German, Spanish, and English: Fritz Hodde – Trumpet, accordion, guitar, vocals - Has played in the band since 1963. Scott Hodde – Saxophone, button accordion, trumpet, drums, bass guitar, vocals - Has played in the band since 1984. Russell Kalkbrenner – Bass guitar, keyboard – Has played in the band since 2002. Brandon Hodde – Drums, saxophone, button accordion, lead guitar, steel guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, vocals - Has played in the band since 2005. Gary Greener – Drums, saxophone, button accordion – Has played in the band since January, 2013. The band has made 10 recordings, which can be found on CD, cassette, 8-track, and LP’s.
